Why do I need a GroceryBee?

We've all done it. You wander the aisles trying to remember what you came for, give up, and drive home. Then, the moment you pull into the driveway, it comes back to you.

"I'll remember that" is a promise we make to ourselves all the time, and we almost never keep it. The problem isn't the trip to the store. It's the moment, days earlier, when you used the last of something and didn't write it down.

Why not just use an app?

You could. There are plenty of good shopping list apps. But be honest with yourself.

When you grab a midnight snack and finish the box, are you going to find your phone, unlock it, open an app and scan the wrapper? When your hands are covered in flour, or you've just pulled the last dryer sheet out of the box, are you going to stop and type it in?

Most of us won't. If adding something to the list takes more than a few seconds, it doesn't get added.

What I built instead

With GroceryBee, I set out to make the easiest possible way to keep the list up to date.

GroceryBee mounts right where things run out: the fridge door, the wall by the washer, a shelf in the garage. When you finish something, you scan the empty on its way to the trash. It takes a few seconds, and it's on your household's shared list.

There's no phone to unlock and nothing to type, so anyone in the house can do it, kids included.

As easy as 1, 2, 3…

  1. Tap GroceryBee.
  2. Scan the product.
  3. …

Well, I guess it's as easy as 1, 2. That's all there is to updating the list. The next time you're at the store, the list in the GroceryBee app is already waiting for you, and nothing is missing from it.

GroceryBee is $149.99 with free US shipping and no subscription. See how it works.
